In this course you will be learning how to draw caricatures by our very own Mrs. Chapman, a former caricature artist! You will create dynamic portraits, creepy creatures, and more. We will primarily be working in color pencil, marker, and graphite to create our cartoons and caricature. Only one student needs to register per household. Our journey visits the culture of Mexico through looking at the calaveras of Jose Posada and the influential muralism movement. Then we design color alebrije sculptures! Would you play with the Cat in the Hat? Every work of art created will be inspired by the wonderful works of Dr. Seuss. Students will create art work inspired by Cat in the Hat, If I Ran the Zoo, The Lorax, and There's a Wocket in my Pocket. Only one student needs to register per household. Exploring the World of Avatar the Last Airbender- In this new illustration course, we will unpack the art and storytelling of Avatar the Last Airbender (ATLA). We will create our own avatars (markers), draw our own ATLA city (pencil/graphite), integrating human movement with ‘elemental bending’ (color pencil and water color), and create additional fine art illustrations (water color). Only one student needs to register per household. You will be required to create a Zoom profile and have internet connection to participate. Zoom accounts are free to join.
