Students will explore a variety of drawing media with an emphasis in developing technique. Guided exercises are used to improve student understanding of proportions, scale, and shading. Portraits, still-life, and design projects are created throughout the course. Instructor: Dr. Moya

Meeting on the UH Clear Lake campus, we will take a close look at art from India! Students will create their own artworks inspired by traditional, cultural, and contemporary works of art from India. Learn about the architecture, votive figures, the Bengal School of Art, artist Jamini Roy, Indian pottery, and more! Children will work with clay, paint, pastels, markers, pencils and more. All materials provided. For Grades K-5. Students in this class will be expected to attend this class on their own without their parents. Instructor: Johnson

In this course, students will integrate Art with STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) with an emphasis in applying design and engineering principles. Students will create structures that are both visually appealing and able to meet the demands of a variety of challenges. Instructor: Dr. Moya

In this class students will explore the deepest depths of the sea to discover facts about different creatures: real and fantasy, including mermaids, sharks, the great coral reef, jellyfish, and more! We will experiment with clay, paint, oil pastels, paper collage and more to create art that is inspired by the creatures that we learn about. All material will be provided.

In this class, we will be creating our own anime illustrations, from sketch to final ink, using a variety of drawing tools like graphite pencils, alcohol markers, and ink pens. We will gather inspiration from a variety of culinary dishes from different cultures, examine works of art made with food, and study art movements depicting all things tasty.
