Camp Code for Girls

TWC awards grants for Camp Code to focus on increasing the interest of middle school girls in coding and computer science by providing summer camps. Camp Code provides students experiences in learning, problem solving and analytical skills while fostering an interest in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) related careers with a focus on computer science.

About the Program: Camp Code focuses on increasing the interest of middle school girls in coding and computer science by providing summer camps. Camp Code offers hands-on experiences with challenging and innovative concepts. Students learn problem solving and analytical skills while fostering an interest in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) related careers with a focus on computer science. Camp Code provides over 1,000 students with activities and lessons that encourage their interest in high technology, such as working in teams to use programming languages to build games, web pages and robots. These activities can enhance girls interest in the industry.

UHCL Partnership: Please note that only one child per family is eligible to receive the scholarship. Each scholarship is valued at $665.

Grades: 6-8

Date : August 5 - 9

Time : 8AM - 3PM

Location : STEM Building, Classroom 1200

Criteria:

Girls who are low SES,in Foster Care, or from underrepresented populations, including minorities. After you have registered, you will be contacted to verify eligibility for participation in this summer camp.
