Option #1: The Full Course This option includes the didactic/online component, course materials, the clinical skills laboratory component, and the 80-hour clinical practicum component. The fee includes course registration, skills lab fee, malpractice insurance, background check, HIPAA training, and electronic health record (charting) access when applicable. This fee is non-refundable.

Fee: $2000

Total Program Length: 120 hours, 16-weeks

Course Maximum: 24 students due to clinical slots needed.

Complete Course Prerequisites for Refresher Registration

Complete course prerequisites must be received by the deadline registration date established by the Program Director/Coordinator.

Submission includes all items below:

1. Immunizations including Influenza Vaccine during Flu season. The recommended CDC timing of flu vaccination which hospitals comply is September through February.  
2. Drug Screening
3. Proof of current American Heart Association Basic Life Support Certification

NOTE:

• Payment of the program option must be paid in full by the last day of registration. The fee is non-refundable.
• Students who have not completed prerequisites prior to the posted deadlines will not be allowed to continue in the course; refunds will not be provided.
• Students will be required to set up a “My Clinical Exchange” account which is an external system used by the Texas hospital facilities we contract with. This requires a small fee paid directly to the facility electronically to be considered for a clinical precepted rotation. Clinical slots (facility, days, times) are assigned by the hospital hosting the clinical. UHCL does not have the authority to assign Preceptors, facilities, days, or shifts. Students are responsible for their transportation to and from the clinical rotations.
• Do NOT request a temporary license until told to do so by the instructor once didactic starts.

Didactic: Oct 19, 2024 - Dec 7, 2024, Clinical Dec 9, 2024 - Feb 1, 2025

Option #2 (No Clinical Rotation) This option includes the didactic/online component and course materials. This fee is non-refundable.

Fee: $1500

Total Program Length: 40 hours, 8-weeks

This option does not include a hospital clinical rotation. Hospital rotations are only available at the time of the initial registration under Option 1 and cannot be changed or added later.
